Fire Pump Flow Test

Preferred Fire Protection has the proper equipment and personnel to perform your annual Fire Pump Flow Test. We use the latest equipment to provide an efficient flow test with minimal water usage and impact to the environment. We will work around your schedule to perform a seamless test.

Fire Hydrant Flow Test

Preferred Fire Protection will provide you with extremely accurate flow tests with our highly trained personnel and latest equipment. Our equipment is calibrated regularly for precision to ensure accurate results. We perform our water flow tests with minimal interruption and will coordinate our schedule with the Water Authority if required. As always we will provide you with a comprehensive test report for your records.

Sprinkler Design and Installation

We design and install automatic fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA Standards. We customize for the building to minimize future maintenance problems. Our systems are installed right the first time, making them maintenance friendly.

Hydrostatic Test

Preferred Fire Protection will perform a Hydrostatic Test to verify the integrity of the Sprinkler System. We will test the System with water at 200 psi for 2 hours to verify there are no leaks. If leaks are present we can repair them at the time of our visit.

Flushing Test

Preferred Fire Protection has the necessary expertise and equipment to perform a Flushing Test of your above ground or underground piping.

Quarterly

  • Inspect and test all waterflow devices
  • Inspect all water and air pressure gauges
  • Inspect all control valves
  • Inspect and test all valve supervisory switches
  • Inspect and test all supervisory signal devices
  • Inspect hydraulic nameplate
  • Inspect fire department connections
  • Test main drain and record results on riser
  • Complete owners section on inspection report
  • Inspect fire sprinklers and storage for proper 18” clearance
  • Run fire pump at churn and check and adjust as needed
  • Check priming levels of dry systems
  • Inspect and operate air compressors, drain tank and check oil level
  • Inspect and record nitrogen levels
  • Drain all low point drains for dry systems
  • Test water motor alarms, check and clean strainers
  • Test supervisory monitoring system

Backflow Prevention Testing

Preferred Fire Protection has all of the necessary equipment and personnel to test and service all brands and models of backflow prevention devices. We will perform your annual backflow test and process all the associated paperwork with the Water Authority to ensure there are no interruptions to your water service. Once you become a Preferred Customer we will automatically contact you when your next test is required. Our process is seamless.

Standpipe Flow Tests

Preferred Fire Protection will conduct a Standpipe Flow Test at the most hydraulically remote point of the Standpipe. Upon completion you will be provided with an accurate and comprehensive report for your records.

Antifreeze Systems

Preferred Fire Protection will inspect your antifreeze sprinkler system to ensure proper antifreeze type and concentration. As with all of our inspections you will get a comprehensive inspection report for your records. All of your reports will be stored on site in our database.

Pneumatic Test

Preferred Fire Protection will perform a pneumatic test to verify the integrity of the Sprinkler System. We will fill the system with air and monitor the results for 24 hours. Any leaks or deficiencies can be corrected at the time of our visit.

Ice Plug Test

The NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) requires an annual internal inspection of Dry System or Pre-action system piping that passes or protects freezers or cold storage rooms. Preferred Fire Protection will perform this inspection and provide a comprehensive report for your records.

Annual

  • Perform dry system trip test, clean and reset valve
  • Trip test quick operating devices and reset
  • Perform annual fire pump flow test as per NFPA 25 and NFPA 20
  • Perform pre-action system trip test, clean and reset valve
  • Test all backflow prevention devices
  • Test fire hydrant, lubricate, and flow test
  • Visually inspect all sprinklers, system piping, hangers from floor (as needed)
  • Inspect and test all antifreeze systems, record results
  • Inspect building for proper heat, exterior openings (as needed)
